[English below]この「ルワンダノオト」を見て、自ら「パートナーになりたい！」と言ってくれたルワンダ人のジャンビエ（Janvier）が、2つ目の記事を送ってくれました。
大学生のジャンビエ
ジャンビエは、タケダが協力隊時代に農村部でおこなっていたホームステイの受け入れを手伝ってくれていたナイスな大学生。
今回は大学の友人たちとの付き合いについて書いてくれました。彼独特の表現をなるべく崩さないように訳してみたので、ルワンダ人学生による生の視点をお楽しみください！

ルワンダ人大学生のキャンパスライフ
わたしたちルワンダ人は、「千の丘の国」と呼ばれるこの国を誇りに思っています。

いつも望んでいるのは、この国のレベルを革新的に引き上げること。
その達成のためには、われわれ自身の努力ももちろん必要ですが、外国人や投資家を歓迎することも必要です。
わたしたちはルワンダ大学（University of Rwanda）の学生であり、強い絆があります。
この絆は、戦士にとっての武器のように、わたしたちを成長させてくれるはずです。
自由な時間があると、キャンパスの外に出て、国について多くを知るために旅行に行きます。
若者はアフリカの力であり、すべての人類に価値を与えます。わたしたちはお互いを愛し、つねにすべてを愛しています。
さあ、わたしたちに加わってください。わたしたちを補完してくれる腕を待っています。
この地球ではもはやひとりでは生きていけませんが、みんなでなら可能です。あなたの腕、力と心は次へのギアになります。わたしたちは準備ができています。
タケダがルワンダに2年間住んで実感した日本人とのちがいのひとつは、詩的、宗教的、スピリチュアルな言いまわしが多いということ。ルワンダでは信心深いクリスチャンが多いので、日ごろから聖書のことばに触れていることが影響しているのではないかと思っています。ジャンビエからの文章も、できるかぎり英文のニュアンスを崩さないようにしながら自然な日本語になるよう訳しました（不自然だけど）。

毎月の誕生日に時間とお金をかけないように、仲間の誕生日を祝うパーティーを毎年開催しています。

わたしたちは、国の内外での良好な関係を通して、みなさん、特に日本のみなさんに感謝しています。
わたしたちは、あなたがかけがえのない人であるということを知っています。この友情はこれからも続いていくはずです。

ジャンビエが伝えたかったこと
ジャンビエに「この文章で、結局なにを伝えたかったの？」と聞いてみたところ、こんな答えが返ってきました。
I want to tell that our unity, activities and all other things we do, doesn’t mean that we’re sufficient by ourselves and we don’t need other people.
「自分だけでも生きていけるし、ほかの人たちは必要ない」なんてことはないってことを、ぼくらの絆とアクティビティとほかのすべてのことがあらわしているんだと伝えたかったんだ。
「自分だけでも生きていけるし、ほかの人たちが必要ない、なんてことはない」ということばや、友人たちとの写真から、彼らがいかにまわりとの結びつきを大事にしているかがわかりますね。
そして、それはルワンダ人の若者どうしだけではなく、わたしたちのような外国人との関係性においてもおなじで、ルワンダという国を盛り上げていくために力をあわせていきたいという想いをもっているようです。
ルワンダではたびたび10代、20代の若者たちから「ルワンダはどうやったら日本のように発展できると思う？」と聞かれました。日本でそこまで国のことを「ジブンゴト」としてとらえている若者はまれですよね。
今回のジャンビエのレポートからも、「この国は自分たちが変えていくんだ」という若者の気概を感じることができました。
ルワンダノオトとしても、その変化をすぐ近くで見届けていくつもりです。
CAMPUS’ UNITY, TRIPPING & PARTY CELEBRATION
We’re Rwandans, country of thousand hills and we’re proud of our country. We always want whatever can put our country on other level and progressively. We’ll achieve them by welcoming foreigners and local investors in our country as well as our hard work too.
We’re students of university of Rwanda and we’ve unity among ourselves, we like to work together.
Our unity, we know will make us great persons. it’s like the strong weapon of the fighters
When we get free time, we go to the trip in order to know much about our country outside the campus

We make party yearly to celebrate all birthdays of our classmates, in order to avoid over time and money spending in monthly birthdays

In “ibireti” farm Northern province of Rwanda. We’re youth the power of Africa and we give value all humanities. We love each other and we always love every one. Come on and join us we wait your arm to complete ours . We know one person only on this wealth earth can’t survive any more but many persons alive, your arm, power and mind is our next gear. So come on we’re ready.
Thank you we like all of you especially Japanese through good relationship between us within and outside a country. We know you’re incomparable people and our friendship will sustainably in progression.

What Janvier wanted to tell
I asked to Janvier “What did you want to tell in this article?” and he answered like this.
I want to tell that our unity, activities and all other things we do, doesn’t mean that we’re sufficient by ourselves and we don’t need other people.
I could understand from his word and photos how he thinks the unity is important.
It is not only in the relationship between Rwandan youth but also between foreigners like us and he wishes he want to develop the country together.
I have often asked “How can we improve our country like Japan?” from young Rwandans. It is very rare for young Japanse to see the country’s future as own task. Many youth do not have interest for Politics maybe it is because Japan has already developed and most people can live without big problems.
I could feel the energy of Rwandan youth like “We will change this country by ourselves!” from Janvier’s report.
Rwanda note will support that change just beside Rwandans too.
